Saturday, July 17 was a hot, sunny day, but about 2,000 people attended the fifth annual Lake Mills Arts Festival and shopped their hearts out! I’m waiting for the 58 artist evaluations to be tallied, but from what I heard on Saturday, the artists were happy there wasn’t any rain!
Thanks to all who came and we look forward to having you with us in 2011!
The Festival Committee meets tonight in Commons Park to stake out booth spaces for our 58 artists. (We also enjoy a little pizza and some beverages while we do this.) We are excited to be preparing for what is sure to be yet another gorgeous, summer day of sales and celebration for the artists, the patrons, and our community!
Happy Fifth year, LMAF!!!

Would you like to contribute to the Arts in your community?? Be a volunteer for the Lake Mills Arts Festival! We are still in need of volunteers to help at our information booth and to be Artist Ambassadors. We have openings all day, but we have a real need for the afternoon shifts. If you can help, please contact Amy at amy.phillips@charter.net.
The Festival is delighted to welcome 8 returning and new businesses to the 2010 Purchase Award Program! These businesses together have pledged to spend a minimum of $750 on art at the festival. (The past has proven that purchase award participants like these businesses tend to far exceed their minimum pledges on the day of the festival when they’re faced with all of the great artwork there.) Each will also award a ribbon for their chosen artist to display on his/her booth.
This year’s Lake Mills Arts Festival will have a total of 58 artists: 21 new artists; 37 returning artists. Six of these artists are from Lake Mills itself.
Here’s the makeup of those artists and their mediums:
3 glass artists
4 ceramic/pottery artists
5 Fiber artists
8 Sculpture/Functional Art
8 Photography
8 Mixed Media
10 Painting
12 Jewelry
The 2010 LMAF entry deadline has come and gone and we now have 51 accepted artists from the state of Wisconsin! Keep an eye on our Facebook page to find out who they are!
